We stayed at Hidden Paradise Cottages from 27th May 24 - 2nd June. After researching accommodation near Amed, we chose Hidden Paradise due to the quiet location on Lipah Beach, excellent food reviews, tropical gardens, & snorkelling from the shore directly outside the resort. This did not disappoint. The first thing we noticed on checking in were the immaculate tropical gardens, being a keen gardener myself, I noticed how meticulously maintained the grounds were. I since found out they employ 3 full time gardeners. The villa was extremely clean, with its own porch and part outside bathroom. The staff, were so very friendly & attentive. There is a mini mart a few doors up, to buy supplies, you can hire a motorbike via HP,which only cost around $15 per day. Alex hires out the snorkelling equipment, boat trips etc, you'll find him on the beach out the front of HPC. Such a lovely young man, we got to know him well in our 7 days. A highlight was a sunset cruise overlooking Agung. The food at Hidden Paradise Cottages, oh my! Everything was fresh and cooked from scratch. The juices freshly squeezed, they even made their own yoghurt for smoothies. We tried a different meal each night, and it was so delicious. The staff even set up a table with fresh flowers and candles on the grass area near the sand, for our anniversary dinner. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff. Breakfast too was delicious, eggs anyway, cereal, Indonesian, coffee, tea juice, fruit, toast homemade jams and home made peanut butter! Yummy. We were hoping we would get to see a turtle when we snorkelled right out the front near the restaurant, but gee, we snorkelled with turtles everyday! Just incredible. Not only that late one night we were fortunate to see a Mama turtle lays eggs in the sand. And watched the whole process before she covered them up & went back out to sea . Watch out for turtles hatching near the sun lounges in 2-3months!

We loved the beachfront location and snorkelling right off the beach. Sunrises are amazing from this location. Bungalows were comfortable. It is one of the original resorts in the area so some would call it dated but I just call it Bali of old. Bungalows are traditional and that is part of the charm. Roosters can be heard in the distance. We didn’t have an issue with this. In fact I enjoyed hearing them. We loved our quiet patio area. Gardens are immaculate. Pool looked great but given beachfront location we spent our water time snorkelling. Restaurant also overlooks the beach and is a great spot for a meal or just chilling with a drink. We ate there twice because we liked the meals - we don’t often eat in resorts but the duck was amazing. In the end we ended up extending our stay we loved being there so much. Thanks to Made for organising sailing and fishing trip for us too. They can organise snorkelling etc for you but we had our own gear. An great impromptu Bali holiday find and as I type this review from our villa in Ubud I am already missing Hidden Paradise. We definitely plan on getting back to this lesser known part of beautiful Bali.

Hidden Paradise was simply perfect for our little family (2.5 yr old toddler)! The bed was huge and comfortable, the room reasonably sized with storage and a desk, the bathroom a lovely Balinese outdoor bathroom. A cot was provided. Everything was clean and tidy. The grounds and pool were beautiful, clean and neatly kept. The onsite restaurant was great: beautiful views, reasonably priced, lovely staff, tasty fresh food, clean high chairs available... what more could you want? Being able to refill bottles with drinking water at the restaurant was also a plus so we didn't have to buy and waste plastic bottles. Hidden Paradise is located on Lipah Beach, from what I hear the only sand beach in the area, which was perfect for our toddler who could play in the sand for hours. It also looked like it was the nicest part of the beach. And what an amazing reef for snorkeling right at the doorstep!! There are a few other restaurants in walking distance, if you want to venture further, the staff are happy to arrange transport. It is not really walking distance to Amed town so a bit quieter but that's what we liked about it. We stayed for 5 days.

Lipah Beach is such a great quiet town. The atmosphere at Hidden Paradise is just as laid back and welcoming as the town. Their restaurant on the beach always has a delightful breeze blowing. In addition to the dining area there are couches and a relaxing area too just to enjoy drinks, read a book, or talk with guests. Haven't even talked about the snorkeling yet which is just directly out in the surf behind HP. Plus, they have a shady spot on the beach thanks to a large tree. The food is excellent too. Many choices and covers a wide variety of tastes and cuisines.

Hidden Paradise Cottages was such a peaceful getaway in Bali. We planned a five day rest period after a busy family wedding. It met our needs so well. The staff were friendly and attentive and could not have done more to enhance our stay. The food was great, the fresh fish was our favourite. Nyoman, a helpful local operating a boat rental on the beach outside the resort took me on a great snorkeling trip ensuring I saw the best areas with turtles and many different tropical fish. Highly recommended. The snorkeling off the beach outside the resort is awesome.
